Sailing at Pauri Lake

Room 4 have recently had two sailing experiences with volunteer members from Sailing Wanganui at Pauri Lake. The children were taught how to rig their boats and then given instructions on the basics of sailing before heading out onto the lake. On the second day they were also taught how to capsize their Optimus yachts and then flip them back up by climbing onto the centre board. It was an awesome two days and everyone is keen to go again in Term 4. Five members of the class are now regular sailors with the Wanganui Sailing Club.
