Measles Outbreak
The Ministry of health has advised that as of the 1 June 2016 there has been 51 confirmed measles cases reported. The majority of those cases are young people aged between 10 and 19 years of age. So far, Northland, Waikato, Nelson-Marlborough, Manawatu and Horowhenua are the only regions currently affected by the outbreak. Anyone who is unsure if they are fully immunised can be vaccinated against measles for free by their GP.
